Hey GM Eternal,
Our new friends from Reno, NV are coming to town for a meet & greet the weekend of May 22nd and 23rd. That’s less then two weeks! We really want to show these guys a warm California welcome so I am asking for full club participation from everyone.
They are driving in on Saturday so we will plan the official Greet and Run on Sunday. Saturday night will most likely be an informal dinner or chill night as they will want to rest up from the drive. That will be for now “to be determined”.
As for Sunday, I am putting together a little agenda and would love to hear some feed back from you guys. We want to show them the best of what GM Eternal has got as well as show these guys what we do in So Cal. I’m sure these guys are not new to California, but we do want to show them a good time during their visit.
Here is a loose run of how the day can go:
• Morning: Meet up at the Super Car Sunday show in Woodland Hills. I believe they start around 8am and last a few short hours. Lots of exotics, muscle cars, sports cars, etc. While this is just a parking lot meet, it’s always a great turn out and fun crowd. Lets see if we can get Mike Haddad out to play that day too!
• Labree Motorsports: Franco, maybe you might want to give a tour of the facility since we’ll be in the area? Not a huge place, but it is where Franco works his magic!
• Photo Opt: Swing by the Woodland Hills office of the C.H.P. for some photo opts? LOL. Its home of where GME gets our fix it tickets signed off!
• Cruise: Stunt Road for a photo opt?
• Cruise: World Famous (kinda) Mulholland “Snake”. Smile for some Rockstorephotos(.com) on our way up?
• Then perhaps a drive to finish off Mulholland to PCH.
• Lunch time: Maybe chill at Santa Monica Promenade or Pier. Lunch at the Restaurant at the end of the pier was a hit last time with the group. Franco can have his beer and Anatoly can hit people over the head again with menus. As long as we don’t get eaten up by the pterodactyl style pelicans, we’ll be good. I think this is a better lunch choice then Neptunes Net. We can at least all sit together. When have we ever had that luxury at Neptunes?
• Chill at the boardwalk or beach. Venice?
• Afternoon: Hollywood sign? There is a great little turn out where we can get some great pics of the cars and or people with the Hollywood sign in the background. I personally just got close to the sign a few weeks ago and being a native So Cal’er it was a first for me. I thought it was pretty cool.
Just some things to consider. Please post up any additional items or things you might want to do we as well. We are open to more events or hot spots you guys can think off.
Gene / Shane: Please chime in too.

UPDATE to Sunday’s Event
It’s come to my attention that something needs mentioning and clarification. Our friends from Reno Nv, Gene and Shaun are coming out for this meet and greet and will be starting a new chapter of GM Eternal in Reno. These guys will be creating and running the chapter by them selves with our help. This Sunday will be the first time for me personally meeting these fellas face to face and welcoming them to our car club family. Franco and Myriam had the pleasure of meeting Gene and Shaun on a recent trip to Reno. Their hospitality was outstanding and I wish to return the favor to these guys upon their visit to L.A.
EVENT Update
I have updates on both Super Car Sunday and the Closures on Mulholland Hwy on Sunday.
I am in communication with Dustin Troyan, the alpha dog responsible for the Super Car Sunday (and the Motors4Toys in December). He tells me that while this Sunday’s “Super Car Sunday” isn’t a “Marque” day, they anticipate the normal 130+ cars to attend. So I think we are gonna be in for a nice turn out.
We will be meeting at the following location at 8am on Sunday, May 23rd:
Supercar Sunday is located at:
Westfield Promenade Mall
6100 Topanga Canyon Boulevard
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

As for the canyon closures on Sunday, it is true. Amgen is having their bicycle “Tour of California” Stage 8 on Sunday.

Unfortunately, I don’t have “flash” so I cannot view the following link/map. Dustin says they will have Mulholland shut down to Cornell and the Rockstore. He thinks we can get to Stunt Road and then to PCH that way. Danny/Franco: Think we can simply pick up Muholland from PCH on the far end and back loop to say Decker or Latigo? There’s plenty of canyons we can do.
ACH and Mt Baldy is a great alternative, but it puts us 1.5+ hours away from the beach and I’m thinking Sunday is going to be a little warm. Plus the Reno boys don’t get much beach time…in Reno.
Again, come out and join us for some fun on Sunday at the SuperCar Sunday show and a day of fun behind the wheel!!
